2009 Road Racing Series Taking Shape

11.05.2008 - The Dunlop Tire National Road Racing Series driven by Mazda 2009-season National schedule is taking shape. Following several weeks of planning, WKA is excited to announce that Elkhart Lake's Road America will join the likes of Daytona, Mid Ohio and Road Atlanta on the 2009 WKA Road Racing national schedule. Virginia International Raceway (VIR) and New Jersey Motorsports Park Lightning course will also welcome WKA road racers in 2009 while traditional road race tracks of Carolina Motorsports Park, Roebling Road Raceway and Putnam Park Road Course will also hold their ground on the busy schedule. Scroll down to view the complete best 6 of 9-race schedule.

As with the addition of new venues, some must rotate off the schedule. With that, it is noted that the New Hampshire Motor Speedway will not be a part of the 2009-national schedule. They will however, remain part of the WKA family and will hopefully reappear on the schedule in the future.

December 28 - 30, 2008
Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, FL

March 20 - 22, 2009
Carolina Motorsports Park, Kershaw, SC

May 8 -- 10
Roebling Road Raceway, Bloomingdale, GA

June 12 - 14
Mid Ohio Sports Car Course, Lexington, OH -- GN

July 10 -- 12

July 30 - August 1

August 14 - 16

October 2-4 or 9-11

Our sincere thanks goes out to all of our partnering clubs and promoters: Badger Kart Club, Big South Series, Dart Kart Club, Karolina Karters, New Hampshire Karting Association, Southern Kart Club, and the Woodbridge Kart Club. Lastly, special thanks go out to our series sponsors Dunlop Tire and Mazda.

Any updates to the WKA National schedule will be available via a link at the top of the home page until the time that they are added to the individual series pages.

Computer Failure Takes Down Magazine

11.05.2008 -- WKA's Karting Scene suffered a serious computer failure Tuesday taking down the primary computer used in day-to-day operations. Right now, we suspect that all email has been lost. We will not know what can be saved until the new/replacement computer is up and running. If you can wait a week or two before contacting the editor via email, we would greatly appreciate it as we only have access to online email right now and expect that account to fill up quickly. If you emailed the editor recently, your email may also be lost, but again, we ask that you wait a week or two before following up on any recent communications. On the bright side of all this, the 2009 WKA Tech Manual is done and mailing at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause you and thank you for your help and understanding.
