KartFest 2009 Continues To Line Up Exhibitors
09.19.2008 -- WKA's annual karting consumer show, KartFest, continues to add exhibitors to the event which will be held January 23 -- 24, 2009 at the Hickory Metro Convention Center. The list of vendors is already growing with interest from many companies pouring in.
Many of the regular names that help to make KartFest what it is have already reserved their space. Vendors such as G-MAN Kartworks, TSRACING.com, Target Distributing, TMC Racewear, MCP Brake Systems, Thor Oil Company, Tomar Engineering, America Power Sports, MyChron by Aimsports, Competition Karting, Inc., Streeter Super Stands, Ultramax, United Trailers and of course Briggs & Stratton are already set to display their new and tried and tested products for the 2009 racing season.
We are working on our seminar schedule for the 2009 show as well. We would like to hear from you with topics you would like to learn more about. If you have ideas for seminars, email them to Marie Borsuk (email@example.com) at the WKA office today! If you or someone you know might have something they feel would benefit our racers in the 2009 racing season, we would like to hear from them as well.
NY State Series Divisional Banquet Same Weekend As WKA Pavement Finale
09.19.2008 -- In an effort to help out those who participate in the NY State Series Divisionals and the Rage Karts Speedway Pavement Series, the Chapel Hill Raceway will host the 2008 NY State Divisional Series Banquet on the Friday evening of the WKA series season finale weekend at BeaveRun Motorsports Complex. The banquet will be held after the Friday practice day at the Holiday Inn in Beaver Falls, PA, and will begin at 7pm.
The hopes of having the banquet on the same weekend as the National is to eliminate a separate trip for anyone wanting to attend the banquet for the divisional series.
"We hope that most people from our series will already be at the National event at BeaveRun, so having our banquet on that Friday will allow almost everyone to attend," explained NY State Series Divisional director, Mike Friel.
WKA Alum, Jimmy Heavlow, Finds Success In Legends Cars
09.19.2008 -- After a successful start in the World Karting Association, Jimmy Heavlow has moved into his first full year in the Legends Semi Pro cars. In addition to his three wins over the summer months, he most recently won with a new team at Concord Motorsports Park this past Friday night. Not a bad start for this WKA Triple Crown Champion, and he has plenty of racing left in the year. You can see Jimmy race this weekend, September 19-20 at Concord Motorsports Park in Concord, NC.
