Gold Cup Drivers Face New Track Challenge At Camden

06.19.2008- As the three month layoff nears conclusion for the Horstman Gold Cup Series, the 4 Cycle Sprint competitors prepare to visit an old friend on the 4th of July. As tradition has dictated for many years, the celebration of our nations birthday has coincided with the traditional second event of this prestigious 4 race national series this year, once again at the G and J Kartway in Camden, Ohio, July 4-6, for the Michigan Kart Supply Nationals.

However, things will be a little different this year. Track Operators, Gary and Travis Gregg, have been working feverishly on an extension to the back end of the famed sprint track. As indicated by the above aerial photo , competitors will take a right hand turn instead of the traditional left, as they work to the back end of the course. The small pigtail will be averted for the national race, while the B configuration will be utilized going into the final turn onto the frontstretch, keeping with the consistency of the recent OVKA event, as well as the Great Lakes Sprint Series event.

Activities for this years Michigan Kart Supply Nationals will get underway with a full day of practice on Friday, July 4th, followed by two full days of the very best 4 Cycle sprint racing in the country.
