Brannam Takes Her First National Victory

5-16-04 Lexington, Ohio: In just her fourth National event, Jessica Brannam took home her first ever WKA National Road Race victory.

The win came on the 2.4 mile Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. She was competing in the WKA Jr. Sprint Heavy class.

Jessica won by leading virtually flaf to flag. She only gave up the lead once for a brief moment. However, the win did not come easy. Jessica's and her closest competitor's lap times were only separated by 3/100ths of a second. Jessica crossed the finish line less than a half of a second ahead of second place to take the win.

After the race a very happy Jessica said, "There is no better feeling than winning a National event race. I have won a dozen championships and almost 100 races and still none of it compares with how I feel right now." She went on to say,"I would like to thank Dunlop Tires for giving me a great tire so I could push hard all the way to the finish. Also the combination of Citgo Racing Fuel and Red Line Oil gave my motor all the power it needed for this victory."

Jessica will be splitting her racing time this year between the Champioship Enduro Series, Mid States Super Series and WKA National Road Race Championship. She may also get in a Burris Circle Tour race along the way.
