Stars of Karting, PRI Ramping Up for Annual Karting Classic
All the fun and action to be enjoyed at the 3rd Annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) All-Stars Karting Classic, organized by the Snap-On Stars of Karting Series in conjunction with the Performance Racing Industry trade show, has been captured in a lively illustration by artist Dale Davis.
Star drivers such as 2006 All-Stars Karting Classic champion Buddy Rice, Bryan Herta, Jamie McMurray, Scott Speed, Ryan Hunter-Reay, AJ Allmendinger and last year's winner Michael Valiante are all confirmed for racing action in the Masters division and will ensure grandstands will be jam packed again for the prestigious event. Top karting stars including two time Intercontinental C (ICC) national champion Gary Carlton, former Intercontinental A (ICA) champion and Stars Mazda front runner Joel Miller, David Jurca, Jarvis Gennari and Kyle Wiegand will also do battle in the Karter division as they look to claim one of the top five transfer spots to the back of the Master class and the opportunity to compete against some of today's motorsports stars.
With all race entries under a large open air tent, up and coming drivers will rub shoulders with today's best as they all race for the chance to compete against the pros in wheel-to-wheel action. Spectators will be able to watch the high paced racing action from several grandstands surrounding the track as the karting competitors will show off the speed and technology of these high performance racing machines that compete in the Stars of Karting national series.
Just over a month until the event, the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series will begin to make multiple announcements of participating drivers in this year's event. Just as the event grew from 2006 to 2007, the same is expected for 2008 as many registration forms for karters and high profile pro drivers are still being submitted to the Stars of Karting headquarters.
Starting the jam packed Thursday off right, the All-Stars Karting Classic will be part of the fun and excitement at the PRI Grand Opening breakfast. Taking place in the exhibit hall at 7:00am, the breakfast ceremonies will feature all-time great crew chief Dale Inman who garnered over 200 victories while working for Richard Petty and the #43 Cup car. With All-Star Karting Classic promotion taking place, high powered racing karts will be featured during the breakfast ceremonies.
Later that day and preceding the All-Stars Karting Classic will be the annual PRI Happy Hour from 6:00 - 8:00pm. Located in the main lobby of the convention center, industry members and show attendees are invited to grab an adult beverage before heading out to the big kart race. A host of tasty and complimentary hors d'oeuvres will also be on hand, as well as the world famous Bud Girls to add to the evening of fun.
The karting will take place on a purpose-built track adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, where the world's largest racing trade show takes place. With setup taking place throughout the day, practice sessions will get underway at 4:00pm with the races being held under the lights at 7:00pm on the evening of Thursday, December 11, 2008. With free admission to show exhibitors and attendee's, the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series in conjunction with the PRI trade show would like to welcome everyone to come and check out the great event.
Though the on track action concludes on Thursday evening, karting will remain front and center within the industry's largest trade show. Several karting importers, race teams and manufacturers will showcase their new 2009 line of products while others will look to solidify new business opportunities that present themselves during show hours. Tony Kart Florida's Andre Martins will host `The Inside Line on a Growing Karting Market', a PRI seminar, on Friday, December 12th as he looks to support and help grow the karting market from promoting from outside industry.
The PRI Trade Show offers racing entrepreneurs from around the world the opportunity to preview the latest racing products, motorsport engineering, machining equipment and more from 1,400 companies. Taking up more than 1,000,000 square feet of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, more than 40,000 industry members from more than 45 different countries are expected to be in attendance for this year's annual event.
