Top Kart Pilots Bryan Herta and Joey Hand look for Success at All-Stars Karting Classic
Grand Products, Kartel Motorsports along with the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series are pleased to announce that Bryan Herta and Joey Hand will compete in the Masters division at the 2008 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) All-Stars Karting Classic. Taking place on December 11th adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, Herta and Hand will join karting pilots Kyle Wiegand and Chris Scribner aboard Top Kart chassis.
"Top Kart has had a very big presence at previous year's All-Stars Karting Classic events," stated Stars of Karting's Jeff Swoboda. "Running big and competitive teams in the past, this year will be no different as they will enter two competitors in each division. Bryan Herta has been here in the past and was on the podium and Joey Hand is a very fast driver. Both competitors have a solid chance at scoring the victory on December 11th."
Herta, who scored a podium result in the first annual All-Stars Karting Classic, will be back this year as he looks to take the win. The former 12 Hours of Sebring American Le Mans Series winner will utilize a Parilla Leopard powered Top Kart in his hunt for victory. Herta has been a regular in victory lane throughout his career scoring the Skip Barber Formula Ford title, Barber Saab Pro Series championship, 1993 Daytona Indy Lights championship, three time pole position winner at Laguna Seca and is one of three drivers in history to ever win in the Champ Car World Series, IndyCar Series and the American le Mans Series.
Joining Herta in the Masters class will be newly announced Rahal Letterman Racing pilot Joey Hand. Throughout his career, Hand has raced everything from competition karts to the American Le Mans Series. Throw in a little of the Toyota Atlantic Championship, Formula Mazda Pro Series and Speed World Challenge and you have a driver with several years of experience in multiple forms of motorsports. Hand is another Masters driver who has visited victory lane on several occasions scoring race wins in Toyota Atlantic, Speed World Challenge and Grand American Koni Challenge.
TaG Senior drivers Chris Scribner and Kyle Wiegand are set to join Herta and Hand in the All-Stars Karting Classic as they look to advance through the Karters division. Scribner, who was the Stars of Karting Western Division TaG Senior champion and Wiegand, a former race winner and constant front runner will be two of the favorites come December 11th. Even though Wiegand and Scribner are teammates, the two drivers fought hard at the Snap-on Stars of Karting National Finals for the victory banging wheels and racing tough to the very last corner in both main events. Look for Top Kart to be represented strong in both divisions at this year's event.
With drivers including AJ Allmendinger, Marco Andretti, Townsend Bell, Antron Brown, Ron Capps, Ed Carpenter, Cristiano Da Matta, Joey Hand, Bryan Herta, Jan Heylen, Jay Howard, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Jamie McMurray, Vitor Meira, Oswaldo Negri, Max Papis, Nelson Phillipe, Will Power, Buddy Rice, Scott Speed, Alex Tagliani and Dan Wheldon already confirmed for action in the Masters division, December 11th is set to be a very special night.
