Leatt-Brace to be Present At PRI All-Stars Karting Classic
Before the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series National Finals in October, Leatt-Brace joined the patron list for the national level program and will now have a strong presence at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) All-Stars Karting Classic. Leatt-Brace will be front and center at the kart race as they will offer product for activation and trial at the prestigious event.
"We are very excited to be partnered with the Stars of Karting Series," expressed Jason McCune of Leatt-Brace. "This organization is regarded as the top series in the Nation. The series and the All-Stars Karting Classic are very good opportunities for us to showcase our new products and work with the current and future stars of auto racing."
Leatt-Brace will have a 10 x 10 display booth at the All-Stars Karting Classic where they will adjust and fit a Leatt-Brace to each and every competitor if desired. Master and Karter division drivers will be asked to present themselves to the Leatt-Brace fit area with race suit and helmet before the event begins.
"We are happy to be working with Leatt-Brace," stated Stars of Karting Jeff Swoboda. "With their focus on improving safety for our sport and promoting their product, there is no better place to do it than at the All-Stars Karting Classic."
The neck brace that drivers will have the opportunity to utilize is the MOTO KART Leatt-Brace, which has been designed for use in all go-kart and karting applications. The brace was developed to help prevent extreme forward, rearward and sideways head movement during impact. The Leatt-Brace also protects against axial loading, which is compression of the spinal column due to the effect of force on the helmet.
There is currently no other neck protection system available for karters that can effectively help prevent all of the above potential injuries. The design rationale behind the Leatt-Brace is to bring the head to a controlled stop. This is achieved by providing a padded rigid structure that acts as an alternate load path for neck forces. Helmet impacts otherwise transmitted from the helmet to skull and then to the neck are re-directed from the helmet to the brace to other body structures in a safe way.
Competing in the All-Stars Karting Classic are names like AJ Allmendinger, Max Papis, Cristiano Da Matta, Oswaldo Negri, Buddy Rice, Scott Speed, Townsend Bell, Jamie McMurray, Nelson Phillipe, Jan Heylen and Ryan Hunter-Reay in the Masters division. A series of further driver announcements are forthcoming for this prestigious event.
Anyone looking to get fitted for a Leatt-Brace and try one at the All-Stars Karting Classic are asked to e-mail their name and contact information to Snap-on Stars of Karting Director of Communications Mike Maurini at Mike@RaceTechDevelopment.com
