The 185 total entry field is headed by a strong lineup in the co-headlining Cytomax ICC (shifter) class. MRP-Birel America will bring back their lead driver Wesley Boswell to back up his impressive win at the MINI Cooper Race of the Americas. Phil Giebler looks to do one better than his second place to Boswell at that race for his G-Phactory-Intrepid team. Other notables in the field include Federal Way, Washington's David Jurca, fresh off an impressive top-ten for Tony Kart in the first round of the European championships as well as hometown favorite Kyle Wiegand who looks to take his first victory of the season for the Team OVRP.com Top Kart operation.

The direct drive warriors also look to show strong in ICA. PSL Karting's Jake Rozenweig looks to be a strong favorite aboard his CRG. ICA rookie Gustavo Yacaman (Top Kart) is looking to make his mark in the senior class while perennial front runners Joel Miller (Tony Kart) and Johnny Johnson (Top Kart) are looking to rebound from disappointing debuts at the season opener in Norman. Tyler Dueck will lead the charge for Intrepid, coming off of a victory in the West division opener in Tucson.

The Spec Racer looks to be strong at this event as well. Adam Johnson (Top Kart) will look to follow-up on his runner-up finish at the MINI Cooper Race of the Americas by slotting one spot higher. New Jersey's Zack Skolnick moves to Birel for this round, and looks to improve on his Norman form. Many are keeping an eye on Indiana based hot shoe Jamie Ferrell (Birel) as he has as an infinite number of laps on the New Castle layout in all conditions imaginable.

The PCH Motorsports JICA class is sure to provide some of the most intense racing action of the weekend. First Kart's Brett Smrz will look to improve on his podium finish at the season opener, but many expect a strong charge from Jacob Neal on his CRG. Noblesville, Indiana's Conor Daly has been winning regionally at the New Castle venue and will look to take it to the next level this weekend for the MRP-Birel America squad.

In the King Taco Cadet class, Juncos Racing will lead a strong charge with Sebastien Orodnez and Spencer Pigot always a factor on their Nevosos. Defending National Champion Sage Karam (Top Kart) however will want take his place back on the podium, as a mechanical failure in Tucson ended his record streak of 13 straight podium finishes in the Snap-on Stars series. Gabriel Chaves (Nevoso) and Oscar Tunjo Sanchez (Nevoso) will also look to follow-up on strong finishes in Norman.

The pre-race festivities will kick off with a trip to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Rahal-Letterman garage on Thursday for some of the series standouts. The timing and location of the Snap-on Grand Prix presented by Bridgestone make it the ideal showcase of the ladder system from the Snap-on Stars of Karting up to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Just a few years back Andretti-Green Racing's Marco Andretti was a front-runner in the Stars series.
