Memo Gidley, Secrets of Speed, and Trackmagic Team up for the All Stars Karting Classic
Seattle , WA -- (November 17, 2006) : Open-wheel and sports car star Memo Gidley has teamed up with his Secrets of Speed Book Series and longtime karting team Trackmagic to attack the All-Stars Karting Classic event at the PRI Show on December 14, 2006. Gidley, who has committed to the event from day one is excited to mix it up with many of his karting, open-wheel, and sports car buddies in Florida, "This is going to be big!" said Gidley. "When I was asked to do another celebrity race I was thinking--oh no--just another PR exercise that has nothing to do about racing. Then I was told about the format of this All Star Classic race where we race not only some great car drivers--but some awesome karters and I was in! It's going to be a hard, fast, and aggressive race and I can't wait to go at it!"
Trackmagic owner Andrew Alphonso was honored to have a driver of Gidley's experience and profile on-board on such a high-profile stage like the All-Stars Karting Classic, "I am excited to have a talented driver like Memo represent Trackmagic at the PRI race. I feel honored that Memo has chosen to continue his relationship with Trackmagic after Fausto Vitello's passing. Memo and Trackmagic have historically made an excellent team and I can't wait to see what happens at December's race." Memo will not only be busy on the track, but off of it as well as he will be promoting his Memo Gidley Secrets of Speed Book Series at the PRI Show. Secrets of Speed Editor Jeff Grist see the PRI Show, and the All-Stars Karting Classic as a venue to bring together a wide variety of business objectives, as well as having a little fun, "Memo and I have had a blast writing books together over the last five years and have always talked about putting some type of racing program together. I hope this is a small step towards something bigger in the future. As the most respected name in North American karting Memo brings a high level of commitment to everything that he does," states Jeff Grist from the Secrets of Speed offices outside Toronto, ON.
Gidley is included in an star-studded lineup for the race that includes Marco Andretti (IRL), Bryan Herta (IRL), Buddy Rice (IRL) Tomas Scheckter (IRL), Ron Capps (NHRA), Doug Herbert (NHRA), and Wayne Taylor (Grand-Am).
