CHECKERED FLAG RACING AND DEVON SANDEEN SCORE STARS OF KARTING CHAMPIONSHIP

"First Kart and Fellner Power claim West title"

Chilliwack, BC. -- August 24, 2006 --Checkered Flag Racing pilot Devon Sandeen (First Kart / Fellner Parilla) scored a podium result in Sunday's action this past weekend to secure the west coast Stars of Karting (SoK) presented by the Indy Racing League Spec Racer championship. Sandeen was taken out early in Saturday's action but recovered on Sunday coming home in the third position.

With an excellent season to date, Sandeen has scored three Stars of Karting victories and several podiums in his quest for the overall series title. The talented British Columbia resident will now shift his focus to the SoK finale in one month's time at the Woodbine parking lot race in Toronto, Ontario.

"I am excited to go to Woodbine and run for the title" explained Sandeen after Sunday's final in Sonoma, California. "Yesterday was a bit of a scare with us not finishing but fortunately we garnered enough points to win the west championship. Now, with a victory and a little luck, I hope that I can bring Checkered Flag Racing, First Kart chassis and Fellner power the national championship that they deserve."

Sandeen will head to Woodbine as the Spec Racer west championship but sits second in the overall national title chase to a fellow east coast competitor. Checkered Flag Racing and Sandeen will begin preparation and testing for the late September event next week in British Columbia
