"Quartet of drivers will be fighting for victory"
Guelph, ON. -- April 14, 2005 -- The FirstKart.com race team will once again travel across the country to compete in the Stars of Karting event being held at P1 Kart Circuit in Tucson, AZ. With drivers competing in Intercontinental C (ICC), Junior Intercontinental A (JICA), Spec Racer and the Cadet categories, First Kart will be looking to garner victories in several series classes.
Defending Canadian National Champions Daniel Morad (ICC) and Eric Gerrits (Rotax Senior) will make the trek out west as the Canadian duo will look to add to their Race of the America's successes. Morad, the newly signed Formula BMW USA driver, will look to flex his muscles in the ICC class as the youngster was one of the quickest drivers all weekend long in Oklahoma. His fellow Canadian teammate in Eric Gerrits will do battle in the Spec Racer division where he qualified his First Kart / CFR Parilla on the outside of the front row on his way to a third place result.
Recently crowned Florida Winter Tour JICA and Rotax Junior Champion Brett Smrz will be back in action as the Idaho resident will be looking to take the checkers in the JICA category. Smrz has started out the season very strong scoring several race wins down in Florida and Charlotte as well as had a strong podium result in the Stars of Karting opener.
Newly signed James Michael Sullivan will make his Stars of Karting debut aboard the First Kart chassis in the ultra competitive Cadet class. The talented Colorado Springs resident holds five years of experience under his belt and will look to make a run at the checkers.
First Kart Dealers Checkered Flag Racing (CFR) and True North Motorsports will also be in attendance with several JICA and Spec Racer competitors. Mitchell Egner, Beau Newhouse and Max Riddle will all contend for the JICA win while Nick Fairney, Bill Lenniger, Ted Pyle and Devon Sandeen will join FirstKart.com pilot Eric Gerrits in the Spec Racer division.
2006 is going to be an exciting year for the team as First Kart North America will travel to all East and West coast events in the Stars of Karting Championship, the World Karting Association Manufactures Cup and the Florida Winter Tour. Arrive and Drive opportunities are available for any interested parties.
