Marco Andretti to Race in the 'All Stars Karting Classic' at PRI
Seattle, WA -- (October 17, 2006) : Indianapolis 500 Runner-up and Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the IRL series graduate Marco Andretti will race in the All-Stars Karting Classic event taking place at the PRI Trade Show in Orlando on the evening of Thursday, December 14. The event will feature the top drivers and teams from the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the IRL racing in the 'Karting' division as well as guest drivers from all forms of motorsports including Bryan Herta (IRL), Ron Capps (NHRA), Doug Herbert (NHRA), Wayne Taylor (Grand-Am), and Memo Gidley (Grand-Am) racing in the 'Masters' division. The top drivers from the Karting division of the event will advance to take on the Masters drivers in the Final race of the evening.
Bryan Herta , founder of the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the IRL, was excited to see his Andretti-Green Racing teammate join him on track at the event, "Marco is not only a teammate but a great friend as well. When I asked him if he wanted to come ra ce he was very excited to come mix it up in a kart again. What makes it even better is the fact that Marco was racing in our series only a few years ago."
The ra ce will feature the SSC East, First Kart North America, Trackmagic, Tony Kart USA, Sodi Racing USA, Grand Products-Top Kart, Champion Racing-Intrepid teams from the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the IRL and utilize karts with the popular 125-cc electric start spec engines that have proliferated the marketpla ce in re cent years. Series title sponsor Snap-on Tools has also stepped up to support the event on multiple levels as have Douglas Wheels and Alpinestars.
Racing action will start at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, De cember 14 on a temporary track constructed adja cent to the Convention Center. Show attendees will be able to progress straight from the PRI Trade Show's Happy Hour directly out to the racing action. Admission will be free to anyone with a PRI Trade Show badge.
