DELMAR, DE-Four double winners ruled eight of 15 classes offered at the second of six WKA Delaware Dirt Divisional races May 5th at US-13 Kartway in Delmar, DE. One hundred and thirty-eight regional racers competed in the Fleet Sales, Inc. of Seaford, DE sponsored Divisional.
Georgetown, DE driver Chad Hayes handled Controlled Heavy's six-racer field and Limited Heavy's nine-racer field with Salisbury, MD pilot Bryan Bradford trailing his HP Speed Shop powered Nuclear chassis each time. Trailing Bradford under Controlled Heavy's checkered flag were Harrington, DE driver Brian Bowman, Kreamer, PA pilot Russell Kinslow and Terry Patchett of Laurel, DE.
Pittsville, MD pilot Buddy Bozman finished third in Limited Heavy and was trailed in the top five by Delmar, DE driver Herman Powell and Alfred McMullen.
Robinson Speed Shop Team Driver R. J. Robinson, of Pittsville, MD, ruled Stock Medium and Senior Champ. Following Robinson across Stock Medium's finish line in the top five of 17 were Doug Bailey of Laurel, DE, Kirk Lawson of Georgetown, Charles Vallandingham and Bill Lancaster.
Robinson beat Chris English to Senior Champ's checkered flag in a two-racer battle.
Richboro, PA pilot Scotty Glover swept both Junior Sportsman-1 classes, Lite and Heavy. Michael Scott took second in Junior Sportsman-1 Lite and was trailed in the top five of nine by Michael Scott, Delmar, MD driver Cameron Mattox, Brandon White of Lewes, DE and Cambridge, MD competitor Austin Elzey.
Mattox made second in the Heavy race. Trailing him in the top five of eight were White, Hebron, MD racer Mike Mobray, Jr. and Elzey.
Delta, PA pilot Bradley Mattlin posted wins in Junior Stock and Junior Restricted with Milford, DE racer Jordan Watson, Laruel, DE driver Brock Adkins and Dover, DE racer Jack Zatlokioicz close behind each time. Bloxom, VA racer Charles Short capped Junior Stock's top five of 13 and Millsboro, DE pilot Virgil Davis took fifth in Junior Restricted.
Tommy Adkins, of Sharptown, MD, scored his second straight Senior Stock win. Walt Ramsey finished second and was followed in the top five by Bill Holloway of Lincoln, DE, Dagsboro, DE driver Michael Wilkins and Kenneth Brown of Delmar, DE.
Hab Nab Trucking sponsored ÔAwesome' Austin Hubbard, of Seaford, DE, beat Greenwood, DE driver Erikia Hearn to Junior Sportsman Champ's checkered flag. Taking the top five of seven behind Hearn were Matt Hubbard, Mattox, and Seaford, DE pilot Randy Hill.
Stock Extra Heavy's final flag waved for Ellendale, DE driver Chad Reed. HP Speed Shop powered Nuclear kart pilot Charles Hayes crossed second out of eight and was trailed across the stripe by Allen Ford of Laurel, DE, Lincoln, DE driver Mike Reynolds and Seaford, DE based Bob Booth.
Hebron, MD racer Matt Mobray handled Stock Lite's 11-racer field. Rounding out the top five behind Mobray were Ray Davis, of Millsboro, DE, Lancaster, Brad Huffman, of Georgetown, DE and David Hastings.
Billy Holloway, Jr., of Lincoln, DE, bagged Stock Heavy's win ahead of Vallandingham. Bradford took third, Reed followed in fourth and Rhodesdale, MD racer Bobby Helgason rounded out the top five of 14.
Hab Nab Trucking team driver Matt Hubbard beat Nick Helgason, of Rhodesdale, MD, to Junior Sportsman-2 Lite's stripe and Joseph Watson, of Milford did the same to T.J. Henry in Junior Sportsman-2 Heavy.
Watson finished third in Lite. Following him across the stripe in the top five of 10 were Seaford, DE racer Randy Hill and Henry.
Helgason was third across Heavy's finish line. Hubbard and Hearn handled the remaining top five of 12.
The Delaware WKA Dirt Divisional Series continues July 14th at US-13 Kartway in Delmar, DE. August's race is on the 11th and September's race is scheduled for the 15th.
