THOMAS LOOKS TO CONTINUE PODIUM STREAK IN NEW JERSEY
"Junior trades in his sprint car for IAME Junior package"
June 23, 2009 -- Fresh off four podium results with his 600cc Micro Sprint, Oklahoma pilot Tyler Thomas will return to his Woltjer powered Top Kart at the second round of the Championship Karting International series. With the event taking place at the New Jersey Motorsports Park facility in Millville, NJ, Thomas will look to improve on his second place result from the opening round.
Competing in the IAME Junior class, Thomas currently sits second in the points and will run against some of the top junior pilots the nation has to offer. Though Thomas has been out of a kart for about a month until this past weekend's test at the facility, the talented junior has still been behind the wheel of a racing machine as he has been tearing up the sprint car ranks.
"The past four weeks have been awesome," expressed Top Kart pilot Tyler Thomas. "Along with the second place result a month ago at CKI, I have been able to gather several podiums and wins with my sprint car. It has definitely been a career month for me and I look to continue that streak in New Jersey."
After this past weekend's test, Thomas is pumped and excited about the upcoming race in a few day's time. "The test went extremely well and we were one of the quickest juniors that were at the track. The Woltjer powered Top Kart should be tough to beat this coming weekend."
