"Miinch looks to continue success"
August 3, 2009 -- Miinch Motorsports driver Taylor Miinch is used to traveling around North America to compete in national level karting events but this coming weekend, the talented junior will remain in his home state as the series comes to him. The third round of the 2009 Championship Karting International (CKI) series will take place on Miinch's home track at the Cal Speed Karting Center on the grounds of the California Speedway as the junior sensation will look to drive to victory in both the IAME Junior and KF3 divisions.
After scoring double victories at the last round in New Jersey, Miinch currently sits second in the KF3 championship race, two points out of the lead. After switching to an Ocala Gran Prix prepared Vortex powerplant, Miinch and his tuner Cory Pollock have worked hard and moved up the rankings scoring their maiden KF3 victory a few weeks ago.
"The KF3 class is one of my favorite racing classes," expressed Miinch. "The motors are good but a good kart setup is important as well. I am excited about this weekend's event as I think these motors and my driving style really suit this track. I am looking forward to score another win."
Miinch will also do battle in the IAME Junior class aboard a P1 powered Top Kart and will work with long-time tuner Wesley Boswell. The talented junior currently sits fourth in the overall point standings, only 34 markers out of the top spot.
"This weekend is going to be a huge opportunity for me," Miinch added. "I know this track very well and feel that I could win in both classes again. Doing that would help solidify my run towards the series championship at the final event."
