WATCH LIVE: Rotax MAX Euro Trophy tests the technically inclined at Steel Ring race
A first for the RMC Euro Trophy calendar, 184 drivers will take on the Trinec, Czech Republic circuit challenging young karters' precision and skill in the second round of the season.
The Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy field takes on uncharted territory this weekend as drivers take on the Steel Ring, in Trinec, Czech Republic. Making its debut on the RMC Euro Trophy calendar, the circuit, opening in 2017, features 1.3 kilometers of fast straights and 15 demanding corners — a track for the technically-inclined drivers.
184 drivers are set to compete this weekend amid the five Rotax categories (with only four of those classes scoring points towards the championship). Those with skill and precision on track will likely come ahead in the championship standings come Sunday.
The Mini MAX class will run under the Czech Cup banner as a standalone event with 37 drivers looking to win the Czech Cup title. All eyes are on Alfie Mair (SFR Motorsport), with one win already under the Brit's belt this season, and a ticket to the 2025 RMC Grand Finals.
Running for points towards the championship are 54 competitors for the Junior MAX field. Leading it is Cole Denholm (Dan Holland Racing) who took victory in Round 1. Denholm stands just 4 points ahead of teammate Jacob Ashcroft, with a single point standing between Ashcroft and Boaz Maximov (Bouvin Power).
Senior MAX steals the show in terms of field size with 81 drivers competing this weekend. Lewis Gilbert (Kraft Motorsport) is ready to take on another victory this season, leading the field at 162 points. Just two points behind is Sean Butcher (KR Sport) at 160 points.
And finally, another combo running of the DD2 and DD2 Masters field with 29 drivers set to battle at the Steel Ring. DD2's current-standing star is Jakub Bezel (Kraft Motorsport), tied with the Masters' current lead Nicolas Picot (Privateer).
