Harvey Geared Up To Maintain Front Running Perfrmance in Wales
Bassingham kart racer Jack Harvey heads to the Llandow circuit in south Wales this weekend, (May 29/30), for round three of the BRDC Stars of Tomorrow Championship with the aim of picking up a good points finish to keep him in the hunt for the Cadet class title.
The reigning WTP (World Technical Product) Champion suffered a nightmare return to the series a couple of weeks ago, when he rolled his kart during one of the heats. A battered and bruised Jack is not going to let it halt his 2004 progress, however.
The Allens Group backed youngster currently lies second in the championship table and he knows that a solid finish is needed at Llandow. A good finish at the venue in 2003 and a great test session a couple of weeks ago has set him up for the weekend.
"I hadn't been to the track since last year up until a couple of weeks ago, but the test we had there was very good and we found a good set-up and I got straight into some very quick times," said Jack.
"It's quite a technical track and last year I went from 16th on the gird in the final to 6th, so I know that I can get past traffic if necessary. I'm really looking forward to it and I know that we need to pick up points again as we are approaching the half-way stage in the championship," he added.
A great start to the season in the ultra-competitive Stars of Tomorrow series has seen Harvey go up against some of the best kart racers in the country. A consistent and professional approach has put him just behind the series leader, in just his second full season of racing.
