Vincec doubles up in round 2 class wins
SUTTON, ONTARIO The second round of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels was held at 3-S Go Karts in Sutton, Ontario. Three of the four Junior classes were run on Saturday, and taking home the wins were; Mike Vincec in both Formula Junior, and Rotax Max Jr. Anthony Furfari took Canada Junior Light, while Dylan Gibson won World Formula Junior. With two wins on the day, Vincec was also the choice for Saturday's GM Winner's Circle Award, which rewards outstanding competition skills and sportsmanship.
First Kart's David Ostella took the Pfaff Fast Qualifier award with a time of 36.206, just ahead of round one winner, Cameron Motorsports' Maxime Pelletier. Pelletier led early before being passed by his Cameron Motorsports teammate Mike Vincec. Vincec went on to win by 2.223 over Pelletier and 3-S Go Karts Kenny Riedmann.
Rotax Max Junior
Cameron Motorsports' Mike Vincec took his second Pfaff Fast Qualifier pole in a row in Rotax Max Junior. Vincec went on to win his second race in a row, and second consecutive RotaxMax Jr. win. Cameron Motorsports Maxime Pelletier was second, 4.904 seconds behind, and Sodi Kart's Greg Rempel was third.
Canada Junior Light
3-S Birel Racing's Anthony Furfari took the Pfaff Fast Qualifier in Canada Junior Light. Birel's Michael Casey and Gold Kart's Vincent Rago were first and second on the track, but both failed tech inspection. That moved polesitter, and third place finisher Furfari up to the top step of the podium. Behind him came Gold Kart's Reid Arnold, and First Kart's Neelan Nadesan.
World Formula Junior
GRG's Wes Calaguiro took the Pfaff Fast Qualifier award by just 0.021 over Hurricane's William Keating. Track Magic's Dylan Gibson, came from fifth on the grid to take the win over Hurricane teammates Jeff May and Joshua Korenyi.
Canada Junior Heavy
First Kart's Kevin Monteith took the Pfaff Fast Qualifier pole award. Sodi Kart's Greg Rempel came from fifth on the grid to take the win ahead of CRG's Brad Forbes. Rounding out the podium was Gold Kart's Michael Di Meo. Rempel also took home the GM Winners Circle award for Sunday classes.
