Holdaway, Keatings, Vincec, Herder and Morad win in Round 2
HAMILTON, ONTARIO - Round 2 of the Sunoco Ron Fellow Karting Championship Presented by Toronto Star Wheels kicked off on Saturday May 29 with four Junior classes. Daniel Morad (Formula Junior), William Keatings (World Formula Junior), Taylor Holdaway (Canada Junior Light) all repeated their Round 1 wins, with wins in Round 2. Michael Vincec was a first time winner in RotaxMax Junior. In Canada Junior Heavy - the only Sunday Junior class - Pearce Herder won both races.
Canada Junior Light - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Taylor Holdaway, Orillia Ontario
Holdaway took the win in the pre-final by .862 of a second over Bolton's Keenan Harris and Maple's JonMicheal Ostella. In the final, the order was the same with Holdaway winning by a scant .240 of a second. With the win, Holdaway is two for two in Canada Junior Light competition in 2004.
Canada Junior Heavy - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier, Justin Holtom, Ottawa Ontario (Round 1), Pearce Herder (Round 2).
Stouffville's Pearce Herder won both rounds of the only Sunday Junior class. Behind Herder in Round 1 came Kevin Monteith and Michael Vincec - both from Stouffville. In Round 2, Holtom finished second and Belfountain's Kenny Riedmann finished third.
RotaxMax Junior - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Michael Vincec, Stouffville, Ontario
Vincec backed up his pole run with wins in the pre-final and final. Behind Vincec in the pre-final came Stouffville's Pearce Herder, who came from ninth on the grid. Third was Markham's Evan Hayden. In the final Herder was second and Brampton's Anthony Gibson was third. A very notable performance was put in by Longueuil, Quebec's Maxime Pelletier, who qualified 15th, had problems in the pre-final that left him 26th, but he raced his way forward to seventh in the final.
World Formula Junior - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Matt Jackson, Burlington, Ontario
In the pre-final, Round 1 winner, Woodstock's William Keatings continued his winning ways, even though he qualified third. Behind Keatings in the pre-final were Jackson, and Hamilton's Melissa Curran - who qualified second. Keatings won the final by 2.422 seconds over Jackson and Anthony Gibson.
Formula Junior - Cameron Motorsports Fast Qualifier; Daniel Morad, Markham, Ontario
Morad continued his winning ways with another dominating performance. He won the pre-final by 4.458 seconds over Victoriaville, Quebec's Jesse Labbe, and King City's Richard Boake. In the final, Morad won by 14. 365 seconds over Vincec and Brantford's Lucas Smith.
