Vincec leads Sunday winners with two class wins. Lennie, Grist and Ostella also win
GOODWOOD, ONTARIO The Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels saw some intense action on the final day of the first weekend of the year. Mike Vincec dominated Formula Senior and the new Rotax Max DD2 Shifter class. Mike Lennie won his first F1-K Senior race, while Garett Grist won his second class of the weekend, and David Ostella won Rotax Max Junior.
Grist also took home the GM Racing Award, while Vincec, his father Drago, and tuner Brian Bettancour took home the Pratt & Miller Team Spirit award.
Pfaff Fast Qualifier Mike Vincec
Mike Vincec dominated the prefinal ahead of Curtis Fox and Tom Cadieux. In the final, Vincec once again schooled the field he won by 18 seconds. Fox was once again second, and Gianmarco Raimondo was third. Michael Di Meo and Corey Usher rounded out the top five.

Pfaff Fast Qualifier Nico Fattore
Nico Fattore won the prefinal after on the track winner Austin Milwain got a penalty. William Vigneault was third. In the final, the battle once again came down to Milwain and Fattore, and there was contact on the last lap as the two battled for the lead. The end result was Fattore handed a three positon penalty. Garett Grist, who came from last on the grid 13th took the win. Grist was followed home by Giovianni Pizzale Rhead and Kevin Morgan
Rotax Max DD2 Shifter
Pfaff Fast Qualifier Mike Vincec
Mike Vincec won the DD2 prefinal over Eric Gerrits and Marco Di Leo. In the final, Vincec completed his sweep of two classes by taking the DD2 win over Marco Di Leo and Frank Launi. The best battle on the track was for fourth between Eric Gerrits and Michael Glaze, who battled the entire 30 lap race distance. Gerrits held on for fourth with Glaze fifth.
Rotax Max Junior
Pfaff Fast Qualifier David Ostella
The Rotax Max Jr prefinal was won by Pfaff Fast Qualifier David Ostella. Corey Luciano was second and Kevin Monteith was third. In the final, it was more of the same with Ostella winning, Luciano second and Monteith third.
Pfaff Fast Qualifier Mike Lennie
In F1-K Senior, Mike Lennie overcame a late race spin while leading to take the win over Michael Deaves and Richard Hibbs, who came from 15th on the grid. In the final, Lennie won again, over Hibbs and Jesse Chiasson.
GM Racing Award
The GM Racing Award is awarded to the driver judged by the series to have displayed outstanding competition skills and sportsmanship. The award went to Garett Grist who had two wins on the weekend. Grist won Canada Junior Light and F1-K Cadet.
Pratt & Miller Team Spirit Award
The Pratt & Miller Team Spirit Award is presented to the participant (s) judged by the series to have exhibited outstanding teamwork in the areas of presentation, preparation and results. The winner this weekend was presented to driver Michael Vincec, tuner Brian Bettancour and father Drago Vincec.
The objective of the SRFKC is to help foster a professional environment for kart drivers; help create a positive attitude towards appearance, conduct and discipline; help foster the employment of the best practices for the safe and fair running of competitions; and help kart drivers to move up the racing ladder to automobile racing.
