November 18, 2009 (Huntington Beach, Calif.) -- A large fleet of Sodi Karts will be under the impressive G-Phactory tent in Las Vegas this week, with a number of Sodi Racing factory drivers making the trip from Europe to compete in SuperNationals XII and make an impression on the North American karting scene.
Two of those drivers will be represented in the headlining SuperPro class. Last year, Anthony Abbasse took pole in SuperPro and was a force to be reckoned with throughout the week's competition. His final ended in a collision with Marco Ardigo, but Abbasse is back to resolve his unfinished business and add to an impressive karting resume that includes five karting championships in his native France.
Also on a Sodi Kart in SuperPro will be Pierre Ragues. A former French champion in Super ICC as well as numerous other classes, Ragues will be making his Supernationals debut after a season competing in the European Le Mans Series, in which he finished sixth in the LMP1 championship driving an Aston Martin. Also on his resume is a trip to the podium at the 24 Hours of LeMans, in which he finished third in LMP2 in 2008.
A total of four Sodi Karts will compete in KF2. Loic Reguillon, Alex Baron and Maxime Bonert will join Andrick Zeen. Zeen has competed extensively in KF2 this season, in the Florida Winter Tour, ProKart Challenge, and overseas in the GPO Karting Series. Reguillon has plenty of experience in the class as well, finishing third in the class in last year's World Cup.
In TaG Senior, Alex Humbert will make the trip from Europe to join Andrick Zeen and Adam Zeen. Pierre Gasly, with four cadet championships in his native France, will be the lone G-Phactory driver in TaG Junior, while Bryce Miller will compete in S3.
"We are really excited to be hosting all of the Sodi Racing factory drivers this weekend," said Preston Newberry, G-Phactory team manager. "Adam, Andrick and Bryce are really looking forward to racing with their teammates from France. We know several of the teams and drivers from Andrick's time in the GPO Karting program, and we are excited to have them under the G-Phactory tent.
"It will also be great to have Abbasse back to compete in SuperPro. He showed to everyone last year what the Sodi Kart's potential is, and only bad luck kept him off the podium and out of a victory. I'm sure everyone is excited to see what he can do this time around."
G-Phactory and Sodi Racing USA hit the track for the first time on Wednesday for practice.
