Red hot Reif set for Raleigh
14 May, 2003 - South Australian driver Reif Corbett is ready to make his KartStars debut this weekend at the fast flowing Raleigh International Karting Raceway this weekend.
Corbett who is the current South Australian, Victorian and New South Wales Rotax Light Champion enters this year's series as one of the hot favourites to claim the prestigious KartStars crown.
It will be the fourth time Corbett has competed at the 1050m circuit with the last time he competed at then venue being during his Biland campaign last year where he finished second.
"The Raleigh track is a very challenging one. I first ran there when I was a Rookie many, many years ago and have enjoyed going back there ever since," said Corbett.
With the support of Tony Noske Racing Corbett will unveil the new INXS and Panasonic livery aboard his kart this weekend.
Last year Corbett took all before him with his convincing fashion in the Rotax Class and he also finished a fine second place at the World Biland Challenge in France late last year.
The 24-year-old is fully focused of being one of the top guns in this years KartStars Series but understands the competition will be tough in the one-make series.
"There is some great competition in the KartStars and despite my recent success in the class driving the Arrow chassis is something that is all new to me," commented Corbett.
"I think anyone of 10-15 drivers will be able to take a win when they get the right set up on the day but it is going to be extremely tough."
Corbett's 2003 KartStars campaign will begin this Friday with practice followed by Qualifying at 12:00 on Saturday with the Final to be held at 2:15pm Sunday afternoon.
