NEW YORK, NY (09 May 2003) -- In a series of unique and dramatic "winners-take-all" go-kart elimination races at SpeedRing Indoor, Sacramento CA, Dromo One, Orange CA and Thunder Alley Indoor Speedway, Brooklyn Center MN, the famed and popular energy drink Red Bull selected 12 additional budding racing champions, placing them within reach of an American dream. The winners careered past the local competition to take their place in the next phase of the Red Bull Driver Search program, Casandra Quaglierini and Amanda Stoddard making sure that the female contingent is well represented in Phase 2.

From 1 April through 18 May, 26 Selection Events across the country are giving thousands of aspiring racers between the ages of 16 to 19, male or female, a once-in-a-lifetime shot at the top. The objective of these events is to find talented young racers with the skill and determination to progress into Phase 2 of the Red Bull Driver Search program. Ultimately, these drivers must possess the drive and ambition necessary to race in Europe in the junior formulae necessary to reach Formula 1.

The 12 drivers chosen will represent their karting center in Phase 2 at one of four regional outdoor go-kart events organized and run by Red Bull. The 12 winners will join 88 other such winners from around the country, where they will fight it out for a spot in the Semi-Final Qualifying Event, in Sebring, Florida in 2 liter race cars.

In Sebring, 12 go-kart winners will be joined by 12 other racers selected by expert 'undercover scouts' from the traditional U.S. racing formulae.

The Red Bull quest for the best will climax in October at the famed Paul Ricard Circuit in France, where 10 of the best racers will be tested and the 2003 Red Bull Driver Search winners will be chosen.

The 2003 Red Bull Driver Search program aims to discover and support highly talented young drivers already in racing, as well as the "diamond in the rough," lacking the knowledge and contacts needed to embark on a career in racing. The long term goal is to have a steady group of 4 to 6 American drivers racing in Europe, groomed to break into Formula 1 and compete for the World Championship.

The 12 winners moving to Phase 2 of the Red Bull Driver Search are as follows:
