St. Johns, Pa. . . . . . . .It may have been hot and humid on Sunday, June 11th and no one really likes to see the snow when it is time to race, but this kind of snow is ok.

The Styrofoam blocks in place for safety during the Summer Heat Racing Series not only saved injury to a driver who hit very hard coming out of turn 4, but saved the Kart, which was able to compete in another class and finish 1st.

In the Jr. caged division, new driver Jen Care beat current point's leader Shayne Balliet. Chuck Morgan took his #7, which was damaged in an earlier crash in the light class to win the heavy feature.

Greenwood Valley Action Track driver Ross Perchack showed up at the track due to track problems at Greenwood on Saturday night, and proved he could he is also a winner on asphalt in the adult caged.

The 2 cycle Feature was won by Frank Peter, but a surprise competitor at the track was Pocono Mountain Speedway Short Track Prostock driver Mike Weaver who finished third.

The first scheduled appearance of the mini-cups proved to be exciting with Jimmy Ayre taking the win in the heat and the feature. The light division was rough and tumble with a flip coming out of turn 2 by Steve McCraken, who walked away uninjured.

When the green flag dropped again it began to snow as it did some laps later when the Kart of Matt Aikly hit the foam coming off of turn four, Nate Morgan went on to take the win.

The micro sprint race was a close battle between 14 year old Terry Peters and A.T.Q.M.R.A. regular Mike Tidaback. In a heated battle on the last lap Tidaback went on to take the win over the teenager. The Summer Heat Racing Series continues next Sunday afternoon with all Kart classes, Microsprints and the slingshots.
