St. Johns, Pa. . . . . . . . With the meteorologists calling for another dismal Sunday in the Poconos, Pocono Mountain Speedway made it shine again. The storm changed direction to the South late Saturday evening and Kart, Microsprint, slingshot and Mini-Cup race teams from as far away as Virginia and Maryland made the trip northward to the "Super Speedway of Kart Racing".

Fans again were treated to great racing action as drafting played a key roll in the outcome of the karting events. Added to the program on Sunday, May 28th were the mini-cup cars that ran at another local track the night before and decided to stay over night and race at the Pocono Mountain Speedway.

Winning Microsprint driver Terry Peters arrived at the track with dirt tires on his 19t Microsprint. Terry purchased a set of asphalt tires and took to the track like a duck to water winning his heat race. Starting 6th in the feature Peters proved he was also an asphalt driver. Peters charged to the front and led every lap to take his first ever victory at the speedway.

The Summer Heat Racing Series continues next Sunday afternoon with all kart classes, Microsprints and the slingshots. For more information please call the speedway at 570-788-7544 or check us out on the web at www.poconomountainspeedway.com. Adults and kids will be well represented in all divisions.
