WKA extends sympathies to Jay Hillmer family

07.21.2010 - Jay Hillmer, a longtime WKA and Woodbridge Kart Club enduro racer and supporter, lost his wife, Sue, this week. WKA extends its thoughts and prayers to Jay and his family.

Sue Hillmer passed peacefully at her home, surrounded by Jay and their children. Sue battled cancer for three years, and she lived two and a half years longer than originally expected. She requested there not be a ceremony in her honor, but urged anyone who felt compelled to celebrate her life by making a donation to cancer research or your local humane society.

Sue enjoyed spending time at WKA and WKC races. She met a number of her close friends throughout her years as a volunteer at WKC and WKA races, and considered the racing one of her greatest hobbies.

The WKA staff and officers will continue to keep the Hillmer family in their thoughts and prayers.
