Steward, Bryson and Neuder Win Path Valley Firsts
Spring Run, PA_ Carlisle racer Nick Bryson won his first BNSS feature in four years Saturday afternoon at the Path Valley Speedway Park.
Racing his #77 in the Jr. Stock Burris Karting class, Bryson started on the outside front row and beat pole sitter and veteran Dylan Cisney into turn one, then survived a lap four restart to lead every lap in only his second race in that class.
Bryson had previously raced Jr. Restricted and he finished third in that feature behind Ethan Beasom and Troy Cunningham. He has no sponsors and says his engine is "bare bones stock." He is the son of George and Yvonne Bryson and he admitted, "I needed the money for vacation!"
Two veteran racers also won their first Burris Racing sponsored features in caged classes. Alex Benda, a flat karts veteran, won in Caged Rookies and stock car veteran Aaron Neuder of Chambersburg won in the Zero Ice Sr. Champs class.
On four-wheelers, Cory Buhrman ended Dane Delancey's winning streak on the 2-Stroke class, but Delancey came back for his 35th season win on his #6 in the 4-stroke division.
Path Valley is proud to be a Burris SpecTrak, sanctioned by the Burris National Speedway Series, and kart and four-wheeler racing sponsored by Burris Racing continues every Saturday afternoon with gates open at 10 a.m. and warm-ups by noon.
In the more competitive classes, Cody Sieber in Lites and Chris Claar in Mediums combined to end Geremey Sheaffer's weekly winning streak in one or both those classes, but Derek Sheaffer continued to romp through the Jr. Sportsman I division. Richard Edwards went into the races leading Daulton Bigler by one point in Kids Karts and stretched his lead slightly with his win while Bigler finished fourth.
Kevin Sheaffer was the day's only double winner with victories in the Animal and Heavy classes. After a thrilling three-wide pass down the back stretch and through turn three, Dakota Bear bested Ryan Laye in the Jr. Sportsman II division.
The Path Valley Speedway Park is located in Spring Run PA a mile north on PA Route 641 from the intersection with PA Route 75, halfway between Port Royal and Hagerstown. It is five miles east from the Willow Hill Exit 14 of the PA Turnpike. The new phone number at the track is 717-349-7111.
