Path Valley Postpones Karts Season Opening

Spring Run, PA_ Because of overnight rain Two Wheel Promotions was unable to prepare the Path Valley Speedway Park for the Burris Karts and the four-wheelers that race every Saturday, so the season opener has been delayed until April 3.

Gates open at 10 a.m. each Saturday for all of the classes of Burris flat and caged karts along with the quads that can also race that night with the AMA motorcycles.

Kart racing on the steeply banked quarter mile clay oval at Path Valley is an effort to develop a new generation of racers and Path Valley races everything from Kid Karts to the senior money classes including Lites, Mediums, Heavies, Extra Heavies and Sr. Champs along with the Animal and Open classes. Junior and Senior classes based on age and weight follow PDKS and Burris rules.

Path Valley is a Burris SpecTrak and American-made Burris tires are required. The top karters in each class are recognized with trophies, merchandise prizes and points money at the annual awards banquet each November.

The Path Valley Speedway Park is located in Spring Run PA a mile north on PA Route 641 from the intersection with PA Route 75, halfway between Port Royal and Hagerstown. It is five miles east from the Willow Hill Exit 14 of the PA Turnpike. The new phone number at the track is 717-349-7111. For information on the 2004 schedule and rules, race teams and fans can consult our website at www.pathvalley.com or they can email Two Wheel Promotions at twp@pathvalley.com.
