OCALA GRAN PRIX HEADS TO DAYTONA
"Six driver team to start off 2010 title chase"
December 21, 2009 -- After a very successful 2009 racing season, which included multiple national level race wins, championships and four drivers invited to the Rotax World Finals, the Ocala Gran Prix team will start their assault on the 2010 program. Competing at the opening round of the World Karting Association Manufacturer's Cup on December 28 -- 30th, Ocala Gran Prix and six drivers will look to become victorious on the grounds of Daytona International Speedway.
Four drivers will enter the junior divisions led by WKA, Florida Winter Tour and Rotax Grand Nationals champion Nick Neri. The talented junior will compete in both the Yamaha and Komet Piston Port (formerly HPV) divisions as he looks to carry the momentum from a strong 2009 campaign. Joining Neri in the Komet class will be Floridian pilots Ethan Low and Andrew Evans. Low was the 2009 Rotax Mini Max National champion while Evans has been honing his skills throughout the state of Florida. Both drivers will make the move to the WKA circuit to compete against some of North America's best pilots as they look for a strong start to the 2010 season.
Female pilot Ashley Rogero will be back on the WKA scene and will remain in the Sportsman categories. Competing in five classes throughout the three day event, Rogero will be at the front of the pack in Cadet Junior Sportsman, Yamaha Sportsman and Komet Sportsman classes. The talented junior ran strong at the end of the 2009 season and with the experienced gained, should be a threat for multiple championships in 2010.
Paul Czapiga and Jim Osborne will make the short trek to Daytona International Speedway to compete in the TaG Masters division to complete Ocala Gran Prix's six kart team.
"I think we have put together a great team for the first event in Daytona," stated Ocala Gran Prix's Kyle Kraus. "We will be fighting for wins and championships all season and will be the official representation for Tony Kart at the WKA program in 2010."
Making sure drivers are at the front of the pack will be a host of mechanics including OGP's Cody Johnson and Mario Ioffredo as well as national level tuners Kyle Kraus and Mike Maurini.
Ocala Gran Prix has a few spaces left in their arrive and drive program for the 2010 Florida Winter Tour. With strong participation in he Rotax program, Ocala Gran Prix is offering lucrative deals for drivers looking to compete in all three weekends. Ocala Gran Prix will also enter competitors in the Rotax Pro and TaG divisions.
