(WEST ALLIS, WIS.) December 29, 2004 -- The best kart racers in the Midwest will compete this weekend in the championship rounds of the 1st Annual Burris National Championship Indoor Racing Series, inside the Wisconsin Products Pavilion, located behind the turn four grandstands of The Milwaukee Mile.

Both New Years Day and Sunday's events will offer a complete race program. Drivers from Minnesota, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois will be competing in 18 classes, sanctioned by The International Racing Association, including Local Option classes.

"We are off to a great start in building a winter tradition by showcasing the talents of national kart racers in Milwaukee," commented Dave Larson of organizer Raceway Kart Association. "We're expecting more kart racers this weekend than our first two rounds, and encourage more local racers to participate, including our friends who are members of the Badger Kart Club in Dousman."

The oval track layout is roughly the size of a hockey rink, with a Coke syrup application applied to the finished concrete floor for adhesion of the racing surface.

Spectator admission is $10. Gates open at 10:00am.

Pits open at 7:30am each day, with practice beginning at 10:00am and racing at 12:00pm.
