The newly formed Lime Rock Karting Association will host a five race series in 1995 at The Road Racing Center of the East, Lime Rock Park in northwestern Connecticut USA. All five races will be held ion the quarter-mile Skip Barber Racing School course located in the infield of the 1.53 mile road racing circuit. The 1995 karting race dates are: April 29, June 3, July 15, August 19 and September 30; all are Saturdays. The LRKA, which will compete under World Karting Association rules, has incorporated a race format that includes two heat races and a feature per class, with consolation races added when needed. The claases will include Light, Medium & Heavy Four Stroke, over 35 Masters class,Champ-kart Superstock, Restricted Junior,Junior Sportsman, Unrestricted Junior, Claimer and Novice. To become a member of the LRKA you must be at least 8 years of age, and submit a $20.00 membership fee. Through membership in LRKA participants will receive discounts on race entry fees, Lime Rock entry fees, season banquet tickets and a Kart Klatter newsletter. In addition to these benefits exciting prize packages will be awarded to the champion in each class. The Skip Barber Racing School will award each adult series champion an opportunity to draw the winning ticket for the grand prize, a three-day Skip Barber Racing School Competition School; the balance of the champions will receive a one-day Skip Barber Introduction to Racing school -- both schools use Dodge -powered single-seat racing cars. The Driving Impressions store located at Lime Rock Park will award gift certificates to each junior division champion. These awards as well as other prizes will be presented at the season banquet right after the September 30 series finale.
