Road Course, Karting Center feature full weekend of action at Infineon Raceway.

SONOMA, Calif. - It will be a busy two days of racing this weekend (Aug. 10-11) at Infineon Raceway, featuring exciting action on both the 12-turn, 2.52-mile road course and also the Infineon Raceway Karting Center.

The road course will feature the seventh round of the USAC Formula Russell Championship Race Series. Qualifying will take place on Saturday and Sunday with main events scheduled for approximately 1 p.m. on both days. There will be five 30-minute main events each day.

Joel Nelson leads the points standings with three events left in the season and is followed by Steve Hill, a Bay Area driver from Los Gatos. Gates open at 8 a.m. each day and admission is free.

The Infineon Raceway Karting Center will feature the fifth round of the Stars of Tomorrow Series on the three-quarter mile, 16-turn track. Lorenzo Mandarino won the last event at Infineon Raceway in the premier ICC (shifter kart) division. Erik Bartolero (Rotax International), JJ McTernan (Junior 80 Shifter), Thomas May (Kid Kart) and Jesse Gwin (Senior Superbox) have all won the last two races at Infineon Raceway in their respective divisions.

Gates open each day at 10 a.m. and cost is $7 (kids 7-and-under are free). Qualifying will take place in all divisions Saturday and also on Sunday morning. Main events will begin at approximately 1 p.m. on Sunday.
