On Victory Lane At Greenwood Valley
April 10, 2004
Ross Perchak, his pit crew, and family did their homework on their RTS chassis over the past winter evidenced by the second win in as many Feature races for the 270cc Micro Sprints at The Greenwood Valley Action Track. Once again this week, Perchak, from Hazelton, led the field handily over some veteran drivers. Denny Rinehimer, Bloomsburg, was in the second slot followed by Scott Kishbaugh, Nescopeck, while in the fourth position was Shane Penny, Nescopeck. The fifth place driver was Sean Stolz, Bloomsburg, while in sixth it was Joel VanBuskirk, Selinsgrove, in seventh, Skeets Hockenbrock, Paxinos, and in the eighth place was Brian Kishbaugh, Nescopeck. Colby Womer and Ryan Smith filled out the top ten.
No one has worked harder at The Greenwood Valley Action Track for the past year to get the right hook-up than Kevin Hayle who won the Sportsman Micro Sprint 250cc Feature on Saturday night. Hayle seemed unpassable as he kept his number 6 car ahead of Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills, and Nathan Ritter. Jason Harman was fourth and Jared Hartman was fifth. George Kerstetter and Greg Steward were the final finishers in this small field of Micros.
In Rookie Micro Sprint action Caesar Bordo brought home the big prize leading Adam Romig across the finish line while Bob Azarowicz was third and Tim Suydam came in fourth. Dave Mooer was fifth, Geoff Hogan was sixth and Kevin Hefflefinger, seventh. Deb Arner, who, with her pit crew, mostly family members, presented a couple of young folks with Easter baskets, came in eighth. Nate Snyder and Doug Updike rounded out the field.
