It was a night of strange happenings at The Greenwood Valley Action Track this week. Early in the evening the power failed for over 9000 customers, and The Action Track was one of them. The track used a generator to run the public address system and the yellow/red/green light display on the corners so the show went on. By rushing through the Karts and Micro Sprint program, night fell just as the Micro Sprint 270cc Feature was about to begin and track promoter threw the red flag for the sake of safety. No sooner had the flag been displayed than the commercial power returned, the over-track lights were turned on and the night was completed as scheduled.

After an 11 year dry spell A.J. Walters, Bloomsburg ran from green flag to checkered in the Micro Sprint 270cc Division without a major challenge. Sean "Hollywood"Good, Middleburg was the closest competition for Walters but never got a wheel on A.J. Good was second, Chad Thomas, New Berlin, was third and Denny Rinehimer, Bloomsburg, was fourth. Joel VanBuskirk from Selinsgrove ran fifth, Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills, sixth and Scott Kishbaugh, Nescopeck, seventh. Scott's brother, Brian, came in eighth, Ray Peters, Shickshinny, ninth and David Utt, Bloomsburg, tenth.

Brian Kishbaugh picked up another feature win in the Sportsman Micro Sprint action while Kevin Hayle, Bloomsburg, ran second and Jim Reese, also from Bloomsburg was third. In the fourth spot was Kirk Miller, Catawissa, while Johnny Gearhart, Bloomsburg, was fifth and Bob Belcher was sixth. Josh Wagner was seventh, Tom Faus, Millville, was eighth, Rick Rubinstein was ninth and Scott Correll, Shickshinny, managed a tenth spot.

Ken Duke, Selinsgrove, won his fourth Rookie Micro Sprint Feature of the year and will take the mandatory move to one of the senior divisions. In second was Tim Suydam, Lehighton, third, Tom Michaelesko, Freeland, and in fourth position was Caesar Bordo, Scranton. Rounding out the field was Jon Allegrucci, Jermyn, Brian Zanalini, Tammy Schane, Ryan Preece and Kriston Gauger.

The Greenwood Valley Action Track is located 3 1/2 miles east of Millville, just south of route 254. Join us every Saturday evening through October for great dirt track action.

Speaking of action, July 25th, a Friday, will be the second Figure 8 race of the season. Gates open at 5, action gets underway soon after. See you at The Action Track.
