In the last points earning race of the 2002 season, Sean "Hollywood" Good was better than good, he was the best! The Middleburg resident paced the field from the pole position and took home the trophy in the Regular (270cc) Micro Sprints at The Greenwood Valley Action Track on Saturday night. As the weather chilled Joel VanBuskirk, Selinsgrove tried a couple of moves on the leader, but to no avail. In the third spot was Denny Rinehimer, Bloomsburg, and in fourth it was Brayden Winters, Easton, while Jason Rice, New Tripoli, rounded out the top five. Six through ten were Skeetz Hockenbrock, Paxinos, Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills, David Utt, Catawissa, Rob Pajauis, Asbury, NJ, and Sean Stolz, Bloomsburg.
Seven cars completed all of the laps required in the Sportsman Micro Sprint Division with Colby Womer taking home the prize. After Womer came Brian Kishbaugh, Nescopeck with Chris Arner, Berwick in the third spot and Jim Reese, Bloomsburg in fourth. Jimmy Funk was fifth, while Dave Fulton was sixth and Termite Herr was the seventh place finisher.
Rookie Micro Sprint action at The Action Track saw Sunbury's Matt Miller winning the top honors, while Dusty Jagger, Port Crane, NY was second. In the third spot was Timmy Buckwalter, Douglassville, and in fourth it was Tammy Schane, Hamlin, followed by Deb Arner, Berwick in fifth. Sixth through tenth spots were taken by Terry Schane, Hamlin, Tim Suydam, Lehighton, Joe Hogan, Plymouth, Kevin Hayle, Bloomsburg, and, rounding out the top ten, was Jeremy Funk.
The points race is over at The Greenwood Valley Action Track but the racing continues through October with winning a race as the main object of the action. Official Points Standings will be available by next weekend. Thanks to the Slingshots for a their usual exciting show at The Action Track on Saturday.
Join The Greenwood Valley Action Track crew this October 4th for the second Figure 8 race with the gates opening at 5 and the action getting underway at 7. The last event drew many cars and drivers and it is anticipated that there will be many more this time.
The Greenwood Valley Action Track is located 3 1/2 miles east of Millville just south of Route 254, so join us for fine oval dirt track racing with gates opening at 3 and racing getting underway at 5:30. See you at The Action Track.
