Denny Rinehimer, Bloomsburg, who owns Hammer Racing Engines put his car and engine in the winner's circle at The Greenwood Valley Action Track main event on Saturday night. Rinehimer managed to get around pole sitter, Skeetz Hockenbrock, Paxinos, at about the half way point in the race and held off the field for the rest of the way. Following Hockenbrock across the line was Joel VanBuskirk, Selinsgrove, and Ross Perchak, Hazelton. Rick Tanner, Danville, was fifth and Ray Peters, Shickshinny, was sixth. Brian Kishbaugh, Nescopeck, Tim Buckwalter, Douglassville, Shane Penny, Berwick, and Steve Lenig, Selinsgrove, finished out the top ten.

A small but determined field of Sportsman Micro Sprint drivers entertained the race fans as Chad Thomas, New Berlin, got his 13th victory of the 2002 season with Brian Kishbaugh coming in second. In the third spot was Jim Reese, Bloomsburg, followed by Berwick's Chris Arner, Greg Welsh and finally Robin Bresser.

The Rookie Micro's took to the track with Terry Schane, Hamlin, at the pole spot which he played to his advantage to get his second rookie win of the season. Dusty Jagger, Port Crane, NY was second and Timmy Buckwalter was third. In the fourth spot was Kevin Hayle, Bloomsburg, with Terry's Mom, Tammy coming in fifth. Sixth through tenth spots went to Deb Arner, Berwick; Nunzi Allegrucci, Jermyn; Tim Suydam, Lehighton; Caesar Bordo, Harrisburg, and Bob Azarowicz, Tunkhannock.

The final points race at The Greenwood Valley Action Track will take place next Saturday night, so plan to attend and cheer your favorite local driver to victory. Racing at The Action Track will continue through the month of October, weather permitting.

Add October 4th to your racing calendar because on that Friday night at Greenwood Valley the second figure 8 race of the season will be held. Gates open for the figure 8 race at 5 and the smashing will begin at 7. Come participate or spectate there when the fun begins in this fast growing motor sport event. See you at the Action Track.
