The Feature for Regular (270cc) Micro Sprint cars was as close as dirt track racing can be at The Greenwood Valley Action Track near Millville on Saturday night. Jeff Furlong, Selinsgrove, cashed in on A.J. Walters' car troubles and won for the second week in a row. Furlong, a powder coater by trade, held off a charging Jason Kemp, Bloomsburg, to take the checkered flag. In the third place position was Steve Lenig, Selinsgrove, while in fourth place was Skeetz Hockenbrock, Paxinos. Fifth in line was Brian Marriot, Harrisburg, sixth was Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills, seventh was Sean "Hollywood" Good, also from Mt. Pleasant Mills. The rest of the top ten were Ross Perchak, Hazelton, Joel VanBuskirk, Selinsgrove, and Jason Rice, New Tripoli.
Rick Morris, Catawissa, dominated the small group of Micro Sprints in the Sportsman Feature. Morris is a native of Catawissa. In the second spot was Jim Reese, Bloomsburg, and in the third position was Chris Arner, Berwick, followed by Craig Fox, Bloomsburg, and Steve Price, Danville.
Sean Stolz, Bloomsburg, won his third Rookie Micro Sprint Feature event, putting him one victory away from the starting grid for Regular 270cc competition. A.J. Bast, Tower City, was second and Tim Buckwalter, Douglessville, managed third. In the fourth spot was Terry Schane, Hamlin, followed by Lee Benjamin, Berwick, Dusty Jagger, Port Crane, NY and Tammy Schane, Bloomsburg. Rounding out the top ten were Deb Arner, Berwick, Jeff Schall, Hackettstown, NJ, and Matt Bower, Selinsgrove.
Dirt action continues at The Action Track next Saturday night when gates will open at 3. First and second place finishers in the Regular Micro Sprint Feature will be guaranteed starting spots for the upcoming "Firecracker 500". This annual shootout pays $800 to win the Feature winner. The Greenwood Valley Action Track is located 3 1/2 miles east of Millville just south of route 254. To get there just turn left at the marked corner, travel Oriole Road until making the turn to the right on Bottom Road then you can't miss The Greenwood Valley Action Track.
