On Victory Lane at Greenwood Valley

Brayden Winters' Micro Sprint was out of commission on Saturday night so he left it home and drove a Larry Sauers' ride for a Feature win in the 270cc Micros at The Greenwood Valley Action Track. Winters, who comes from Easton, has been looking for a good finish for some time, and had his wish come true. In the second spot, right on Winters' tail was Denny Rinehimer, Bloomsburg, and Todd Hoover, Mt. Pleasant Mills. Fourth spot went to Jason Rice, New Tripoli, fifth to Ray Peters, Shickshinny, sixth to Skeetz Hockenbrock, Paxinos, and seventh to Chad Thomas, New Berlin. The eighth place prize went to Brian Kishbaugh, Nescopeck, ninth to Joel VanBuskirk, Selinsgrove and tenth to Sean "Hollywood" Good, Middleburg.

Chop Slusser, Bloomsburg, claimed his second Sportsman Micro Sprint Feature win in as many weeks to the delight of his family and friends. Second place was Rick Morris, Cattawissa, third went to Chad Thomas, New Berlin, and fourth spot to Gene Lewis, Sunbury. Earl Hoon, Jr. Elizabethville, was fifth and the final finisher was Termite Hurr, Palmyra.

In the Rookie Micro Sprint competition Timmy Buckwalter, Douglessville, picked up his first Feature win at The Action Track. Buckwalter is the nephew of Steve Buckwalter who makes the winner's circle regularly on many local tracks. Second place went to Phil Weinsteiger, Green Lane, third to Sean Stolz, Bloomsburg, and fourth to Jason Harmon, Berwick. The remainder of the top ten were, Dusty Jagger, Port Crane, NY; Brian Terwilliger, Addison, NY; Sean Stolz, Bloomsburg; Deb Arner, Berwick; Jared Schall, Hackettstown, NJ, and finally, Jack Longo.

Friday night, August 9, is a day to mark on your calendars because that will be when the first Figure Eight races will be held at The Greenwood Valley Action Track. The gates will open at 5:30 and the smashing and crashing will get underway at 7. This growing sport for 4 cylinder, two wheel drive cars is gaining in popularity and should draw a large number of seasoned drivers. Saturday evening will see the regular Saturday night show with Karts and Micros in full song. For Figure Eight racing on Friday and for the regular racing schedule on next Saturday, we will see you at The Action Track.
