On Victory Lane at Greenwood Valley.

Some fine racing warmed up a chilly May night at The Greenwood Valley Action Track on Saturday. Sean Good, Middleburg out ran his bad luck and picked up a Feature win in the Regular Micro Sprint 270cc final. Good thanked his parents and family for helping him to be on the race track with a special nod to "Vince" at VRP Shocks who helped with advice on the setup. Chasing Good was Skeetz Hockenbrock, Paxinos, who came close to passing the leader several times but had to be satisfied with second. In the third spot was Joel VanBuskirk, Selinsgrove, who finished right on the Hockenbrock nerf bar. Fourth was Jason Rice, New Tripoli, Fifth place went to Jeff Furlong, Selinsgrove, Sixth to Brayden Winters, Easton, and seventh to Pat Bealer, Seemsville, and in eighth was A. J. Walters, Bloomsburg. Ninth and tenth were Nick Wean and Colby Womer, Mt. Pleasant Mills.

In the 250cc Sportsman Micro Sprint Division Chad Thomas, New Berlin, won the Feature while Jake Starr, Millville, was second and Jim Reese, Bloomsburg, was third. In the fourth spot was Tim Buckwalter, Douglessville, while Kevin Faus, Orangeville, was fifth, Rod Faus, Orangeville, was sixth and the final spot went to Craig Fox.

Jake Starr was the winner in the Rookie Micro Sprint Feature, his first this year at The Action Track. Second place was taken by Jason Harman, Nescopeck, third by Sean Stolz, Bloomsburg, and fourth was Larry Sauers, Allewood. In the fifth position was Mike Burke, Cressona, sixth was Jeff Schall, Hackettsville, NJ, seventh place went to Tim Buckwalter, Douglassville, and eight was Joel Thomas, Bloomsburg. Ninth was Deb Arner, Berwick, and the tenth spot was won by Josh Blyler.

The Slingshot 600cc cars by Tobias visited The Action Track on their Slingshot Tour for 2002. Feature winner Jay Hartman defeated Ryan Smith in a hard driven contest while Jay's brother Jeff was Third. In the fourth spot was Bloomsburg's Brian Wawroski, fifth was Joey Funk III, and sixth place went to Ryan Osborne. The top ten was rounded out by Tony Scerbo, Scott Pettis, Jilly Long, and Charlie Bodine. The Slingshots will return to The Action Track on their next tour in August. Many Slingshot drivers race regularly at The Greenwood Valley Action Track.

Next week at The Action Track will be the Racer's Tribute Memorial Race, with $500 to win, a great time to visit The Action Track as the weather warms and the racing heats up for the Memorial Day classic. Gates open at 3, warm-ups begin at 4:30, and there are always Kart and Micros in the program. The Lawn Tractors are back again next week. See you at The Action Track.
