Jeff Furlong, Selinsgrove, driving the East Coast Motorsports Micro Sprint logged another win in the 270cc Micro Sprint Feature at The Greenwood Valley Action Track. Furlong, last year's Micro Sprint Track Champion was dogged by Joey Finan, Milton, and Selinsgrove's Steve Lenig who finished second and third. In fourth place was, Neil "the Wheel" Petock, Bloomsburg, fifth, Chris Smith, also from Bloomsburg, followed by Eric Eckert, Bristol. Finishing seventh was Brian Kishbaugh, Nescopeck, eighth was Michael Ruttkamp, from Wilton, CT, and Jason Rice, Tripoli, and Blane Heimbach, Selinsgrove, rounding out the top ten.
Colby Womer chalked-up a Sportsman Micro Sprint Feature victory win for the second week in a row at the controls of The Action Track sponsored car. Womer's family was on hand to help him celebrate his victory after missing the honor last weekend. In the second spot was Shane Penny, Nescopeck, third was Michael Ruttkamp, Wilton, CT, while in fourth was John "Hoss" Uhrin, Freeland. Fifth place went to Jay Horvath, Allentown, sixth was Rob Pajauis, Asbury, NJ, seventh was Mike Beagle and in the eighth position was Dusty Jagger, Port Crane, NY. Ninth and tenth places went to Jesse Reek and Millville resident, John Roberts.
Chop Slusser, Bloomsburg, claimed his first Rookie Micro Sprint Feature win after three years of trying, causing emotions to run high among his supporters in Victory Lane. Phil Weinsteiger, Jr., Green Lane, ran a close second, Eric Perchak, Hazelton, third and Todd Hoover, Selinsgrove, managed a fourth. In the fifth slot was Matt Miller, Sunbury, sixth was Jesse Snyder, seventh Brayden Winters, Easton, and eighth was Mike Burke, Orwigsburg. In ninth was Greg Spangler, Wapwallopen, and in tenth was Matt Bowers.
The Spec Racer Slingshot Class continues to attract competitors with its appealing price tag. On Saturday night at The Action Track, Denny Rhinehimer, Bloomsburg, was the Feature winner, followed by Paul Harig, Summit Station, and Dave Shirk, Fredrichsburg.
Next Saturday night's 270cc Micro Sprint Feature carries a special bonus as the top two finishers are guaranteed a starting spot in the Racer's Tribute Memorial Race scheduled for May 26.
