"Regional and National level wins"

Brownsburg, Indiana. -- May 31, 2006 -- Junior drivers Kevin Montieth and Brett Smrz along with Spec 125cc Racer Devon Sandeen, continue to score results as the trio have been victorious over the past four weekends of competition. Montieth claimed regional level victories at the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship while Sandeen and Smrz continue to add to their '06 results with a wins at the Stars of Karting events at P1 Kart Circuit in Tucson, AZ and New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, IN.

Both Montieth and Smrz have been tearing it up this year as these drivers claimed victories and championships at the 2006 Florida Winter Tour. Montieth was able to score the final round win in the Rotax Junior class in only his third event south of the border while the 15-year-old Smrz scored several victories throughout the series and both the Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) and Rotax Junior championships.

With Ontario's best competing at the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship (SRFKC), Montieth was looking to start the series off right. The Stouffville, Ontario resident fought hard with some tough competition and managed to claim the checkers in the Junior Heavy and Rotax Junior classes at Goodwood Kartways. Two weeks later, Montieth was in action again scoring the win at the SRFKC event in Hamilton, Ontario and retains the overall points lead in the Junior Heavy division.

South of the border, Idaho's Brett Smrz claimed the World Karting Association Midwest Sprint Series victory at New Castle Motorsports Park and followed it up the next weekend with the Stars of Karting (SoK) JICA checkers on Saturday. FirstKart.com/Checkered Flag Racing driver Devon Sandeen provided the squad with their first SoK victory of 2006 as the British Columbia resident swept the weekend in Tucson, AZ and unofficially took over the Spec Racer western division points lead.
