CKI FLORIDA CUP PRESENTED BY SUPERTUNE USA AND DEFRANCESCO RACING CLASS CHANGE

"Series changes Leopard Senior to TaG Senior division"

Phoenix, AZ - February 9, 2010 -- After a successful opening round to the Championship Karting International (CKI) Florida Cup presented by Supertune USA and DeFrancesco racing, series officials have decided to make changes to the Leopard Senior division. Effective immediately, the CKI program will change the class name from Leopard Senior to CKI TaG Senior and allow the use of four different engine packages for the remainder of the series.

"During and after our inaugural event, we listened to the teams and racers about the concerns they had about the TaG division," expressed Director of Operations Kevin Williams. "Most of the competitors expressed their interest for the Leopard Senior and made recommendations on what to do in the future. We took the suggestions of the racers, contacted multiple teams and drivers that did not participate to see what would be best for them. With their concerns and answers, we have put together a program that we feel will help the field size and competition in the senior TaG division."

Beginning with second Florida Cup event at the Homestead Karting Complex in Southern Florida, CKI TaG Senior will be open to drivers over the age of 15 and competitors will have the choice of four different motor packages. Legal for competition in CKI TaG Senior will be the IAME Parilla Leopard, Rotax, Vortex RoK TT and Sonik powerplants.

Utilizing the World Karting Association (WKA) rules platform that has provided great and successful racing for multiple seasons, each motor will encompass their own set of rules and weights to help level the playing field and provide the competition in the TaG category that has come from the CKI series.

The CKI TaG Senior rules and class information can be found on the series website at www.ChampionshipKartRacing.com

In other news, the CKI Florida Cup presented by Supertune USA and DeFrancesco Racing has secured rooms at the brand new Hampton Inn near Homestead Miami Speedway for all remaining events. Understanding the crisis in Haiti and the lack of rooms in Southern Florida, series officials have put together a room package for all series participants. Interested parties are asked to contact the Hampton Inn at 305.257.7000 or go to www.miamisouthhomesteadsuites.hamptoninn.com and use the Group Code "CKI" and the Group Name, "CKI-Karting-Feb" to reserve their room at discounted prices.

The Championship Karting International program and WSK North America Series by CKI will next see action with their second event in the first annual CKI Florida Cup presented by Supertune USA and DeFrancesco Racing. With the program taking place at the Homestead Karting Center just south of Miami, Florida, the Florida Cup Series will award more than $130,000.00 in cash and prizes including a brand new Mazda 3.
