Come 16th and 17th September, Sepang Internatinal Go-Kart Circuit will come alive with exciting kart race actions as it hosts the Round 3 for the KBS Ford Malaysia Kart Prix.

Expected to participate in this round are 150 kart racers, with drivers from many overseas countries such as Australia, Canada, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia and Hong Kong. Naturally, our local drivers will also be represented in full force to uphold proudly our "Malaysia Boleh" challenge! The event is also expected to attract top drivers from both Thailand and also Japan, which will certainly make the track action very competitive and certainly world class.

"Judging from the different winners in the last two rounds for almost all categories, Sepang will surely provide another two days of interesting and exciting round of kart racing" said Ann Siew, the marketing manager of City Karting Promotion. As the Sepang International Go-Kart Circuit is also a neutral circuit to most drivers, the additional ability to adapt quickly to the circuit and setting up will definitely be an important factor in winning.

There will be four categories of racing with classes such as Open, Junior, Piston Port and Cadet. Each class will carry its own set of regulations but the engines are all two stroke with max capacity of 100cc except for the Cadet class, which is set at 80cc. Speed of 125 to 130 km/hr are expected on the front straight!

To add razzmatazz to the event, a celebrity race will be held on the final day, with competitors from local celebrities and VIPS. We are also expecting a number of former Miss Malaysia to make the driver's grid for this race - so do come and view firsthand their driving skills!

The event is jointly sponsored by both Kementerian Belia and Sukan ( Mnistry of Youth and Sports ) and Ford Malaysia. Other sponsors include the Sepang International Go-Kart Circuit, Petronas, Pan Global, the Concorde Hotel, Red Bull and Pepsi Cola.

The races are also sanctioned by Commission of International Karting (CIK) and Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) and the event organised by Kelab Kart Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan (KKS) and City Karting Promotion.

Be there to savour the intensity, speed and thrills of kart racing! Admission to the track is free!
