Lindstrom blitzes at Bolivar

21 September, 2003 - The scene was set for a scintillating finale' to the Super Cheap Auto Junior Blitz Series with Championship contenders Jordie Lindstrom, Kristian Lindbom and James Love starting 1,2 and 3 in the Junior Sportsman Final.

Lindstrom led the opening two laps before Lindbom moved into the lead only to have Lindstrom regain the lead a lap later.

Just under half race distance it was Love who shoot to the front in what had become a three-way battle for the final round victory. Over the ensuing laps Lindstrom hounded the bumper of Love while Lindbom sat patiently in third.

With three laps remaining Lindstrom mad his move into the lead. He then benefited from Love and Lindbom coming together during the last lap on several occasions to take the win by over 10 kart-lenths.

Love crossed the line second but was later demoted to third by the officials elevating Lindbom to second. By virtue of his victory Lindstrom won the Series narrowly ahead of Love and Lindbom to earn himself a free entry into the KartStars Series in 2004.

In ARC Junior National Heavy Mark Dorbolo overhauled local Omega driver Paul Pittam to take the win and also the Series. Pittam was second in the final round ahead of Shannon Butler.

The ARC Junior National Light Final was a closely fought affair with Robert Munnerley taking the win ahead of Nicholas Pavan. Early race leader Jason Taylor finish third.

With Max Carter already having the Sniper Rookies Championship in the bag Leigh Nicoloau finished the Series on a high with a victory in his Arrow kart and steal second place in the Series away from Brock Hallett. Local drivers Scott Boorman and Scott Kissock filled the minor positions on the podium.

Ben Lincoln and Credex racer James Kovacic battled all weekend for the Comer Midgets victory and in the end it was Lincoln who won the round. Kovacic's second place was enough to seal the Championship. Matthew hart finished third.
