THE TRUE VALUE IROC SERIES LENDS A BUMPER FOR A GOOD CAUSE

BROOKLYN, MI - On Friday, June 11th, at high noon, The True Value International Race of Champions kicks-off it's third race of the 1999 season here at Michigan Speedway and through the efforts of the series' title sponsor, True Value, an important message will adorn the rear bumper of the IROC cars:

"GET THE TOOLBOX THAT ROCKS! 1-800-6-HARDWARE"

You won't find a Master Mechanic ½ inch wrench inside this toolbox. What you will get is a NASCAR Rocks concert T-shirt, baseball cap, compact disk and limited edition Hot Wheels 1:64 scale die cast #99 car- all in an exclusive True Value NASCAR Rocks corrugated toolbox. True Value is proud to offer "The Toolbox That Rocks" in celebration of its presenting sponsorship of the NASCAR Rocks concert series that begins Saturday, June 12th in Denver. You can get "The Toolbox That Rocks" for $24.95 (plus S&H) by spending $20 or more with your Visa card at any participating True Value store. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of "The Toolbox That Rocks" will go to Give The Kids The World on behalf of True Value.

Give The Kids The World is a non-profit organization which exists only to fulfill the wishes of all terminally ill children and their families from around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to the Central Florida attractions and to enjoy the magic of the Give Kids The World Village for as long as there is a need.

"True Value has been a great sponsor and friend to the IROC series since 1984 and we're happy to help them promote "The Toolbox That Rocks" to the race fans, which will in return benefit Give The Kids The World, said IROC series President Jay Signore.

The True Value International Race of Champions (IROC) organizers invite a dozen of the world's best drivers from various auto racing series based on championship caliber performance. The four-event series awards points for finishing positions in each race. At the end of the fourth event the points are tallied and an IROC Champion is named. All IROC race cars are equipped with Goodyear Eagle radial tires and specially finished with brilliant DuPont ChromaSystemÔ colors.

Watch the 1999 Indianapolis 500 winner Kenny Brack do battle against NASCAR Winston Cup defending champion Jeff Gordon, True Value IROC series points leader Dale Earnhardt, CART FedEx Championship Series' Adrian Fernandez and Greg Moore, 1998 Indy 500 winner Eddie Cheever Jr., NASCAR's Jeff Burton, Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace, Bobby Labonte, Dale Jarrett, and defending Busch Series titlist, Dale Earnhardt Jr.

This race will be broadcast on ESPN, Saturday, June 12th at 3:00p.m. (Eastern Time).

IROC is sponsored by True Value Hardware Stores, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., and DuPont Automotive Finishes.
