DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 20, 2002) - True Value IROC test drivers, Dave Marcis, Jim Sauter and Andy Hillenburg continued coaching chores on Wednesday at Daytona International Speedway with World of Outlaw competitors, Steve Kinser and Danny Lasoski.
The sprint car champions are getting as much seat time as possible with the test team in preparation for the series opener on Friday, Feb. 12, 2003.
On high-banked Superspeedway racing is all about drafting technique and keeping the momentum of the car going in various situations. Marcis, Sauter and Hillenburg are continually putting Kinser and Lasoski in simulated race situations, setting up drafting scenarios and running in every possible groove on the racetrack.
Of his second day back on pavement Steve Kinser said, "I'm feeling better and better each and every time I get out there. The test drivers are working hard to get us to feel comfortable in every groove on the racetrack. The more time you spend in any race car the more confident you feel and that's what we're down here doing, getting the seat time and having a heck of a lot of fun too."
The True Value IROC team will rap up preseason testing Thursday with Steve Kinser and Danny Lasoski.
