Zach Veach captured pole position on last lap of qualifying session at Long Beach

It's Zach Veach second career pole position, teammate Matthew Brabham will start tomorrow's race from the third position.

Zach Veach, No. 26 RePLAY XD: "I really have to thank my engineer (Doug Zister) for this because I came by and he told me, 'You're P4 - you better figure out what you're doing, I'm not here for that (haha).' I was just able to put it together and get the pole on the last lap. I don't know how I did it or how it happened - I'm sure the data will explain that - it was just a magical lap for me and the RePLAY XD car."

Matthew Brabham, No. 83 United Fiber & Data/MAZDASPEED: "It was a tough session. I was off the pace for the first kind of half, and our new tire run didn't go so well. It really came down to that last couple laps. We were all SO close, we were all within like a tenth (of a second), the top four of us. Unfortunately I ended up third, but I'm still happy with that. It's going to be a tight, close race for sure. We'll see how it goes, but I'm happy but disappointed at the same time; it's so frustrating to be so close to pole position and to be third, but I'm grateful for these United Fiber & Data/MAZDASPEED guys for all their hard work, and we'll see how the race ends up."
