WATKINS GLEN, NY. (July 4, 2009) -- In the Firestone Indy Lights race held earlier in the afternoon, Panther driver Martin Plowman finished in the 11th position and teammate Pippa Mann finished in 15th. Plowman had climbed as high as ninth-place before a restart on the final lap, where he slipped back two positions. But, Plowman gained two more positions in the Indy Lights championship race, moving to the 13th position and is now just five points out of the 12th position in the points chase.

"Well, it was quite an eventful race. It was looking like our first Top Ten road course result but unfortunately we got bolted on the last restart and I lost my position to Ana (Beatriz). I have to say I'm very disappointed with the standard of blocking by some drivers out there. The officials made it very clear during the Driver's Meeting that blocking would be penalized, but that's not what happened out there on more than one occasion. Now we want to focus our efforts in getting into the Top Five next race in Toronto."
Pippa Mann, No. 16 Firestone Indy Lights
"I was really disappointed this morning when I was told that I had to start from the back because of the engine change. We made a lot of progress this morning comparing to yesterday's time and the car felt a lot better. In the race I believe that if I had my original starting position I could have stayed a little bit higher and finished in the group that was in front of me, but starting from the back was quite difficult to keep up."
