NAOKI HATTORI PACES TEAM KOOL GREEN TO SEVENTH AT NAZARETH 1998 PPG-Dayton Indy Lights Championship: Round 3 - Nazareth - 27 April, 15:00:00 NAZARETH, Pa. - Team KOOL Green's Naoki Hattori collected six valuable points today finishing seventh in the PPG-Dayton Indy Lights race at Nazareth Speedway. Cristiano da Matta of Brazil cruised to a comfortable 14.174-second margin of victory over Didier Andre of France and Casey Mears of Bakersfield, Calif. in third. More comfortable racing on road and street circuits, Hattori followed a smart, conservative race strategy moving up from his 12th starting position on the grid. He did much better here than last season, when he started 18th and finished 15th. It was da Matta's second consecutive win, having taken the victory earlier this month at Long Beach. Da Matta leads the Indy Lights standings with 59 points, followed by Andre with 27. Hattori has 20 points and is in fifth place. The series' next round is at Gateway International Raceway on Saturday, May 23 Naoki Hattori, #27 Team KOOL Green: (Started 12th / Finished 7th; Overall standings 5th with 20 points) "The changes we made to the car after this morning helped. I finally got some understeer in the car after having oversteer all weekend. The car was pretty good in turn two, but it was understeering in turn three -- more and more as the race went on. I couldn't pass anybody in turn three. But I really enjoyed racing in the traffic today."
