BROOKLYN, Mich., - Team KOOL Green's Jonny Kane was third fastest in today's Indy Lights practice, clocking a lap of 39.185 seconds (183.744 mph) on the 2-mile oval at Michigan Speedway. Rodolfo Lavin Jr. was second quickest with a time of 39.123 seconds (184.035 mph), just four-thousandths of a second off of the Tony Renna's track record (39.119 seconds). Meanwhile, the quickest lap of the day came from rookie Scott Dixon, who was under the track record with a time of 39.069 seconds (184.289 mph).

"We finished up third quickest, which is pretty good for my first time on a superspeedway. I did a lot of laps running by myself to see where we are for single-car qualifying. I think we're looking really good, but it's hard to tell what other guys might be doing on track. I did a 39.5 by myself with nobody near the KOOL car. That's as good as any one running on their own. Even in traffic when I did my best lap with a tow, the car felt stable in doing a 39.1. The only downside today is that (Scott) Dixon is quickest and he's the rookie points leader, who I'm trying to catch.

"Running on a superspeedway isn't any easier than other ovals. You're going faster and you have as little downforce as possible. It takes a bit of commitment to go flat out, but I'm there now. The car isn't quite on an edge, but it's certainly not an easy drive round."
